shmick

good: that meal was shmicko. Also, schmicko.

Contributor's comments: I have heard "shmick" used by a well travelled local to mean stylish and well done. I wonder if it could be "schmick" - with the "c" like schmaltz, hence Yiddish or German.

Contributor's comments: I think this may be a derivative or related to the word "smick" which I have used since I was a teenager in NSW. It descibes something that is very "tidy", "neat", "straight" or in good "nick" or condition.

Contributor's comments: Commonly used in the army to describe one's well presented attire.

Contributor's comments: I do not believe this is a WA word at all. I never heard it used in 30 years but have heard it used extensively since living on the East coast (ACT, NSW, QLD). I always believed that it was either schmick (with a 'c') or smick. Both seem to be used.

Contributor's comments: The word shmick is extremely widespread in the Australian Air Force cadets, and is used to describe immaculate drill and ceremonial movements.
