FHB

Family Hold Back - "code" message at a get-together where there may not be enough food provided to go around, so a parent will say "FHB" and the kids know that they will get fed when they get home!

Contributor's comments: FHB - used in our family in SW Lancashire (Liverpool) from 1940 onwards, to keep the kids away from the rationed goodies (war-time).
