punch buggy

a type of game in which punches were exchanged upon failing certain requirements.
Contributor's comments: In a game of punch buggie 'white rabbit' had to be said otherwise you copped a smack in the arm.

Contributor's comments: During the 90's around Brisbane / Gold Coast a "Punch Buggy" meant a VW Beatle. The first person to see one would yell "Punch Buggy" and could punch those present. Due to their distinctive sound and shape, they could be heard/seen a long way off. On a trip to the US, I found out they called this game "Slug Bug".
